Believe it or not the very first graphical computer game was created way back in 1952 by A.S. Douglas which essentially was a graphical version of Tic Tac Toe. Who would have thought that this would spawned an industry that was worth 41.9 Billion in 2007 and set to reach 68 Billion in 2012?
From Atari to PlayStation, from the 70’s to the 00’s, the one thing that has always been the same has been the addictive nature of these electrical aliens in our lounge. They even classify this as an addiction with organisations like Online Gamers Anonymous leading the recovery process or as they say: “self help fellowship”.
But what consoles have been the most addictive? Who have been the pioneers taking this industry to the main stream? What is the most iconic gaming platform? Let’s find out:
Atari 2600 – Get your retro Atari Fix here.
Sony Playstation – Released in 2000, this still has some great games.
Sega Master System II – Did someone say “Alex the Kid”?
Sony Playstation III – Still currently the best platform out there, become addicted here.
Nintendo Entertainment System – Super Mario Brother’s anyone?
Nintendo Wii – Just make sure you wear that dam safety wrist band!
xBox 360 – Yes, it didn’t get hacked so a safe choice.
Super Nintendo – You can still get the game cartridges for this bad boy.
