The Classic Atari 2600

Believe it or not the very first graphical computer game was created way back in 1952 by A.S. Douglas which essentially was a graphical version of Tic Tac Toe.  Who would have thought that this would have spawned an industry that was worth 41.9 Billion in 2007 and set to reach 68 Billion in 2012.

But what have been the best gaming consoles to date?  Who have been the pioneers who have taken this industry to the main stream?
