The Ultimate Sport – Golf

Golf on the surface of things is an exceedingly strange sport.  To the uninitiated it may seem like you spend 3 to 4 hours of your time (can be much more depending on your skill level), walking round a large park, hitting a small white ball with a graphite stick so that it goes down a whole.  But to millions, golf is the ultimate sport and has been since it’s invention in Scotland way back in the 15th Century.

The Best Brands That Will Not Cost the Earth

With this obsession of golf comes the need to have the right clubs to ensure you are hitting that little white ball with the most control and accuracy possible.   Now we are not recommending you follow some of golfing’s self indulgent douche bag’s like Tiger Woods and buy the most expensive and custom made clubs available in the market. No. We are being a little more practical and giving you a top ten selection of the best golf brands that will hopefully improve your game without blowing your savings.

Quality Selection Process

The selection process for these top brands has been based on the following: price, quality, durability and technology. Whilst we are not guaranteeing they will make you one of Golfing’s all time greats, we are giving you that extra edge in selecting the right clubs to take down your mates!

Callaway – Top golfers using Callaway include; Phil Mickelson and Alvaro Quiros.  We recommend starting with the Callaway Golf Solaire 14-Piece Complete Club Set.

Wilson – Top golfers using Wilson include; Padraig Harrington and Ricky Barnes. We recommend improving your fairway play with the Wilson Staff Di11 Irons, Set of 8.

Taylormade – Top golfers using Taylormade include; Jason Day and Jim Furyk. If you are looking for a well priced but brilliant driver then take a look at the Taylormade R11 Driver

Cleveland – Top golfers using Cleveland include; Jeff Overton and Michael Putnam. If you are getting into trouble then we recommend the Cleveland Mashie Hybrid 4i.

Titleist – Top golfers using Titleist include; Rory Mcllroy and Lee Westwood.  We recommend improving your fairway accuracy with Titleist Mens AP2 Forged Irons

Nike – Top golfers using Nike include; Anthony Kim and Paul Casey.  If you believe in the saying “drive for show, putt for doe” then we recommend the Nike Golf Everclear Putter 22.

Mizuno – Top golfers using Mizuno include; Luke Donald and Charles Howell III. We recommend trying out the all round suitability of the Mizuno MX-100 Hybrid Iron Set.

Adams – Top golfers using Adams include; Aaron Baddeley and Chad Campbell.  To get that extra bit of distance and leverage the latest hybrid technology we recommend the Adams Golf Idea Tech V3 Forged Hybrid Irons.

Cobra – Top golfers using Cobra include; Ian Poulter and Johan Edfors. If you are looking to “let the big dog eat” then look no further then our recommendation of the Cobra 2011 S3 Max OS Driver.

Ping – Top golfers using Ping include; Bubba Wilson and Hunter Mahan.  Ping offer world class irons so to help get your game in shape we recommend the Ping Rapture Irons.
